  • Our Zookeeper travelled to San Diego to train and to personally escort our Koalas back to Calgary. They all travelled on a donated private jet because Koalas are just too precious to travel as cargo and not legal to travel on normal passenger flights.
  • Even though Koalas look like soft, cuddly teddy bears, they aren't bears or even remotely related to bears. Koalas have a closer kinship with Kangaroos and Wombats

Breakfast with the Koalas

ImageCome on down, Mate!  Fill up on a hot pancake “brekkie” at the Kitamaba Café and listen up to some “kool” stuff about Koalas.  Take a short walk-about over to the Australia/Nocturnal building to have a gander at our visitors from San Diego.  You will get a private viewing of these non-bears while the keeper is doing her morning routine.  Ages five and older only.
