If you are between the ages of 14-17 and have the desire to Engage, Inspire and Connect with our visitors, we encourage you to apply. KidzKonnect Volunteers play an important role at the Zoo by enhancing our guests’ experience from start to finish. Would you like to share your knowledge of the natural world with people? Would you like to help connect youth with nature through school programs? And would you like to engage children in the world around them through activities and games? If you answered yes to any of these questions then being an education docent at the Calgary Zoo might be for you.
Docents regularly conduct tours; assist with Behind the Scenes activities; teach school programs; and much more. The zoo provides a comprehensive training program including over 20 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of on-site training.
If you love to garden, or just have a have a keen interest in the botanical world and would like to share your knowledge of that world with visitors at the Calgary Zoo then you may want to consider becoming a Master Gardener at the Zoo.
After taking the Master Gardener course at the Zoo - more information: click here - you will be ready to interact with zoo visitors in many ways including: hosting Master Gardener Discovery Carts; helping out at zoo horticultural programs and presentations; and giving botanical tours at the zoo.
